What happened

STAGE, co-founded by Vinay Singhal, streams films and shows in dialects such as Haryanvi and Rajasthani. Large streaming platforms focus on Hindi, English and major regional languages, leaving dialect audiences underserved.

The deal had one of the highest valuations on the show, with debt alongside equity. Serving a focused audience lets a smaller platform build loyalty with a much smaller content budget than national competitors.

On Shark Tank India Season 2, STAGE closed a deal of ₹1.5 crore for 0.6% equity, plus ₹1.5 crore debt at 12% interest. The equity portion implies a valuation of about ₹250 crore for the business. Part of the money came as debt, which must be repaid with interest but doesn't dilute the founders' ownership.
